Currencies
Currency Overview
Execution Capital supports multiple currencies for transactions and displays. All currency conversions are based on real-time exchange rates from trusted sources. This page explains how our currency system works and displays current exchange rates.
How Currency Conversion Works
Base Currency
All exchange rates are calculated relative to GBP (British Pound) as the base currency. This means all conversions go through GBP as an intermediary currency.
Exchange Rate Source
We use the APILayer Exchange Rates Data API to fetch exchange rates for major currencies, with a documented daily refresh in production.
Rate Caching
Exchange rates are cached in your browser's localStorage for 24 hours to improve performance and reduce API calls. Rates are automatically refreshed when they expire or when you manually refresh them.
Conversion Method
To convert from one currency to another, the amount is first converted to GBP (the base currency), then converted to the target currency. For example, to convert 100 USD to EUR: 100 USD → GBP → EUR.
